Core Values
The principles behind every decision
These six commitments aren't a mission statement — they're the working rules GASWT applies when a programme, partnership or tool has to actually get built.
Human-centered technology
Technology should never replace humanity; it should empower it. Every tool GASWT builds or endorses is judged by whether it strengthens the relationship between a social worker and the people they serve.
Evidence and rigor
Programmes and recommendations are grounded in research, not trend-following. Where the evidence is thin, GASWT says so rather than overstating certainty.
Ethical by default
Data privacy, informed consent and responsible use of AI are starting requirements for GASWT's work, not add-ons considered after a tool is built.
Global, not centralized
Regions and country chapters co-own the network's direction. Leadership and representation are distributed across GASWT's five regions by design.
Access for the underserved
Digital inclusion work prioritizes people most often left out of new technology — persons with disabilities, older adults, children and marginalized communities.
Collaboration over competition
GASWT works alongside universities, governments, technology companies and existing professional bodies rather than positioning itself against them.
